This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you visit bemodo.uk or place an order with us. We process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Depending on how you use our Website, we collect:

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Shopify Inc. – our e-commerce platform, which hosts the Website and processes orders on our behalf;
  • Locema GmbH, Schwerin, Germany – our fulfilment and returns partner;
  • Payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal) to process your payment;
  • Delivery carriers to deliver your order;
  • Email and marketing service providers (only if you have subscribed);
  • Professional advisers and authorities where required by law (e.g. HMRC).

All service providers act under contracts that require them to protect your data.

5. International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and some of our service providers process data outside the UK (including in the USA and the European Economic Area). Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure an adequate level of protection through one or more of the following safeguards:

  • transfers to the EEA, covered by the UK's adequacy regulations;
  • transfers to US providers certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework;
  • the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

  • Order and invoice data: for the retention periods required by tax and commercial law (generally up to 6 years for UK VAT purposes);

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;
  • restrict processing in certain circumstances;
  • data portability – receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data transmitted via the Website and access controls for our systems.

Our Website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on the Website, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
